Sandbanks Beaches
Sandbanks is home to one of the finest beaches in the UK and has received blue flag status.
The most popular beach in the summer months is situated on Shore Road. There are a number of amenities that service the beach such as cafes. refreshment kiosks, beach shops, toilets and showers. There is a safe swim zone and RNLI lifeguards are on hand during the summer months.
One of the best beaches and best kept secrets is postioned near the tip of the Peninsula just East of the ferry where there is a sheltered cove ideal for swimming. This beach is normally only frequented by locals and is a good place to go if you want to avoid the crowds. However, there are not any amenities at this end of the beach so you do need to come prepared.
Water Sports
Sandbanks is very popular for water sport enthusiasts both on the harbourside and also in the sea. Activities include kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. There are a number of operators at Sandbanks who specialise in equipment hire and tuition. Poole Harbour is very shallow where the watersports take place making it an ideal place for beginners.
